Check out my AOTY page!

I do more typing on the Internet than you think. This isn't the only place where I spill out all sorts of nonsense, but if you want some music related nonsense, my AOTY page is the right place to go!

The PSVita is now in my hands!

Last post I said I'd update you once I do get my hands on the PSVita, and yesterday I did! I didn't make an update post yesterday since I was playing the PSVita all day, but I might as well create this post during a boring school presentation.

The PSVita came with a 128GB SD card, it's already modded and PSN spoofed, and all it needs is some playtime. I installed quite a few titles, such as LBP, ModNation Racers: RT, Spy Chameleon, (which is very nostalgic) Minecraft: PSVita Edition and many more titles. Surprisingly, Minecraft plays great on the hardware it's on, especially LBP as I haven't noticed any lag yet. ModNation Racers lags all over the place since it's a direct port of the PS3 version, but it's bearable.

Now, the only problem is that I have just one friend that owns a PSVita, and since the online services are free, I'd love to start getting more and more PSVita owners onto my friends list! If you also want another PSVita owner on your friend list, go ahead and add miiarcus onto your friend list. You can also suggest games for me to get at my Blips page.

The PSVita arrived! Just one problem...

Yesterday I got my PSVita in the mail, and it looks better than I expected. The seller even threw in a case since they had one lying around, also because we were talking to the seller about questions and what other cool stuff it can do. I was able to hold it in my hands for a few minutes until my father said "You have to act excited when you open it up on Christmas." That alone made my stomach drop.

What's the point of holding your Christmas gift in your hands, wrapping it up, waiting two weeks, and opening it up again? There has to be a way to convince him to allow me to use it early, since I can prove my point. When I got a new desktop computer for Christmas, he let me have it out of the box. Maybe because a desktop computer is huge? Is that why he let me have it early? I have many questions that have to be answered.

This post is short, but I'll update y'all once I do find a way to get it in my hands. As always, thanks for reading.

Pre-owner thoughts about the PSVita

I've been using my PSP a lot ever since I found out that we're actually buying a PSVita, just to get myself hyped about the console. The arrival date said it'll be on my doorstep today or tomorrow, and I really can't wait to get my hands on that console. It's so easy to mod, has an extremely low risk of getting PSN banned, has great graphical capabilities, and a really cool feature that I want to try out.

Now, since my PS3's WLAN chip broke before I could use this feature, we also have a PS4 that barely gets used. That's mostly because the PS4 sits in the living room, and since all of my family members want to watch TV, the PS4 can't really be used. That's all going to change though, since the Vita supports something called "Remote Play."

Remote Play with the PSP and PS3 was very limited, it only supported PS1 games and like 3 PS3 titles. As soon as the PS4 came out and introduced Remote Play with the Vita, it made Remote Play so much better. From what I've heard, Remote Play with the PS4 and Vita supports almost every PS4 game, with the exception of Playstation Move games, of course. I've got some good titles I want to play on the PS4, but I'm barely able to even get on that console because of where the console is. That's all going to change though!

I'm also excited about playing "LittleBigPlanet 2" on that console, since my friend says it's the best one out of the series and the Vita version plays exactly like the PS3 version. Minecraft, ModNation Racers: RT, hell even Jetpack Joyride on the Vita all sound exciting. I've always enjoyed the console releases of Jetpack Joyride since there's no IAPs, no ads, and no BS. Also because you're clicking a button instead of pressing on the screen...

If you, the reader wants to friend me on PSN, send a request to miiarcus and I'll accept it when I can. Thanks for reading!

1 Month Hiatus from YouTube

I had a hiatus from my YouTube channel for a whole month just so I could take a break from staring at a screen on my computer for 6 hours creating and editing content. It takes quite a bit of time and effort to produce a video that's watchable from start to finish. What if admitted to rushing a video? It has to happen all the time to many content creators out there, so here's my long line of text about it.

I rushed the Halloween video because I just didn't feel like making it. It felt so weird making that video because there was barely an idea in mind. Was I going to corrupt iCarly? What about corrupting a new game? Should I corrupt an already existing game?

I decided to combine all of these thoughts because iCarly kept crashing during recording. Seems like that game literally cannot handle corruption. So I decided to corrupt a couple more games like Jenga World Tour and Wii Sports, all of which were fun to do, but I wanted to keep the video short. Unfortunately, I lost track of time which resulted in a clip that was an hour long. Usually, clips that long take 3 hours to edit, usually because I'm a slow editor.

Keep in mind that this is the 31st, which is the day Halloween occurs. I decided to rush through the editing, but I was already too late. It's midnight and it's a school night. I was very tired after all of that editing, and I fell asleep almost immediately. I took it easy on the second editing day and got it finished. That explains why that video was released a day late.

Creating deadlines just makes video editing stressful, promising videos to your subscribers without publishing anything is not cool, and I'd admit; I did that a couple of times, which just makes me feel like an ass. The first time I did that was even on a summer month, which is where I had a lot of time to create and publish content. I really need to prioritize videos more often, because my channel would die without any new uploads.

Thanks for reading. If you're a subscriber to my channel, expect some content to be published in the near future!

PS3 Slim WLAN chip problem

It's October 15th, and me and my family decided to go to another city. Our first stop is the thrift store, and I have 60 dollars in my pocket. Hoping the PS3 I saw in that thrift store last week was still there, I walk into the store. And there it is, the 60 dollar PS3 Slim. After some convincing, I was able to get the PS3 in my hands and turned it on as soon as I got back home. The luckily official controller and the console worked just fine, and it even came with a 250 GB hard drive! It connected to the Internet just fine and I was able to mod it with HEN.

I got all the good games on my console now. LittleBigPlanet, Skate 3, Borderlands, South Park: STOT, are all enjoyable on the PS3. One day, something unfortunate happened when I moved my PS3 to a different location. It couldn't connect to any of my Wi-Fi networks it was previously connected to. This happened on the SAME week of purchasing the PS3. I can't really say anything, because the thrift shop tested it, and everything worked. Now it something is wrong with it which is out of their hands.

Here comes the troubleshooting. I moved it back to where it originally was, and it couldn't detect any networks. I moved it to a location closer to the router, and it didn't pick up any networks there. But then I ran an Ethernet cord through multiple rooms of my house to see if it would connect via Ethernet. That worked, which meant that was the only way to connect to the Internet.

Is it that big of a deal? Not really. Especially when the ban risk for going online with a modded PS3 is never zero. The only thing I worry about being connected to PSN is being network banned. They wouldn't network ban me, right? Well now they can't because my PS3's WLAN chip kicked the bucket. And after all, I can always just run the Ethernet cord all the way to my room for a few minutes just to sync my trophies.

I'm getting a PSVita soon, which makes sense because Christmas is just two weeks away, which provides almost PS3 level graphics. Take LittleBigPlanet 2 on the PS3 and Vita. The Vita isn't a demake, it's the exact same game running at a stable frame rate. Since the Vita is basically a PS3 on wheels, AND it connects to the Internet, what should I use my PS3 for now? Some of the games I have on PS3, are also on my Xbox 360, like Skate 3, and I can play that game online with friends that don't have PS3s. Is it just going to suck electricity in stand-by mode and never be used? Surely I could find another use for it.

miiarcusdoesblogs. Or does he?

 Welcome to the miiarcusdoesblogs site!

This site was created out of boredom, but for a reason too. I use microblogging sites like Blips to share my thoughts with a lively community, but what If I really want to get in-depth with a subject? I wouldn't want to flood the public timeline with my posts, so I thought Blogger would be a great place for typing down the thoughts that would otherwise flood the public timeline.

The topics I'd post will be about old/new technology, music, and personal experiences. If I feel ambitious I'll throw in different topics to increase variety. Please note that I won't post here often since schoolwork and other things to-do in life will occupy my free time.

Thanks for reading and checking out the site!
