miiarcus' March Update

I reached 500 subscribers on YouTube is a really big deal for me. My previous attempts on gaining attraction on YouTube were never successful, I think I peaked around 200 in my last attempt? It's hard to remember since that channel was forgettable. I had already hit a sweet spot with my content which have gotten me up to this point, which I thank YouTube's broken algorithm for recommending my mediocre content to y'all. But where should I go beyond this point in time?

My channel has always been in the game corruption genre, with a few tech "reviews" here and there. The problem with being in this genre is that if you corrupt game after game, it's going to get old. And yes, I admit that it's getting old. That's why I want to bring more variety to the channel, but with my lack of ideas at the time of writing this it's going to be difficult. I've already tried to bring more variety to the channel, such as the Exploring Old Broken Bones Games on ROBLOX video, or one of my personal favorites, the A Completely Ignorant Happy Wars Overview video.

It feels like I put in more effort with videos similar to the Happy Wars video, as I genuinely had fun recording and editing that video. With corruption videos, editing is far more boring and time-extensive. All I do is:

  • Find a moment where Contestant0 does the funny
  • Zoom in on the clip (if needed) for viewers to get a closer look at the funny
  • Split the clip, then find another moment where Contestant0 does the funny
That takes nearly 3 hours to do. 3 hours of sitting my ass down at the computer, clicking the mouse and moving it back and fourth. It may seem easy, but it gets repetitive fairly quickly.

This is why I want to bring more variety to the channel. The only problem with that variety is that it goes nowhere. I want at least a couple of hundred people to watch my content from start to finish, but if it only gets 100 views and dies off, how would that be memorable to my viewers? I'll give variety another shot, and perhaps do a topic that's known by more people than just a small handful of people. This is what to expect from my channel in the future. (and maybe a 500 subscriber Q/A video?? 👀)

Moving onto my personal life, I recently got a summer job! This probably will affect how often I'll upload over the summer, but with this new job I can afford new equipment for the channel, such as getting a better microphone, or buying more old devices to make videos of, or to get new games to make play-throughs with, the possibilities are endless! Do remember that I have an Album Of The Year profile, which is where I do most of my writing; about music reviews. You can check it out by clicking here.

That's all I've got to say. I'll try to get something out this weekend or next week. I'll upload whenever I feel like it, I guess you could say, since I'm too lazy to follow an upload schedule.
